Chechen bass guitar

When I was a kid I was really into Alembic basses for some reason. Always wanted one, never had the $15,000 lying around.

I figured out Alembic basses and Wishbass basses are made pretty much the same way, And a Wishbass was like, $300. So I thought I’d aim for somewhere in between.

Literally dozens of years later, here it is.

The neck is maple and cherry. Super beefy—I was afraid of carving into the truss rod slot. I’m used to it now. The fretboard is wenge.

The body is chechen and maple and cherry.

The bridge is a replacement for a Gibson Thunderbird.

The pickups are Bartolinis, made for a Washburn.

The electronics are overkill:

It’s not quite wired up right, but it’s close enough.
