Most years, my wife and her friend put on a fundraiser for a couple breast cancer support groups. This is the first time I felt confident enough that I could donate a raffle prize.
I learned from the oak lap steel that I can make a lap steel fairly quickly. Way faster than a normal guitar.
The whole thing is cut from a big block of sapele.
The tuners are pretty nice Gotohs.
The fretboard is an epoxy + mica swirl-pour thing.
I had the fret outlines cut into a vinyl window sticker.
The pickguard is a haircell ABS, which I’ve always wanted to use for something.
The screws are small and numerous.
Originally I wanted to do an etched aluminum thing on the head, but I guess Brother printers aren’t great for that. Maybe next year.
